Stan Cullis made 131 appearances for the Club
between 1934 & 1947. A great defender, he would have certainly made far more
appearances if not for the Second World War. He was also capped by England
twelve times. But it was he spell as manager between 1948 & 1964, that he
was probably best remembered for, as this was Wolves 'golden era' in which
they won three League Championships in 1954, 1958 and 1959, plus the FA Cup
in 1949 & 1960. He also managed Wolves in those famous 1950's floodlit games
against foreign opposition such as Moscow Spartak & Honved. He passed away
in 2001. The statue of him at Molineux was unveiled in 2003.
