How long has it taken you to
visit all 92 grounds?
Actually over 26 years mainly of following Swindon, but I really only decided to
complete all the current grounds last season (1998-99) where I completed the final 15
grounds.
Best Ground visited (& why)
Old Trafford. Shear size and facilities. Of all the new grounds then it has to be
Sunderland followed by Reading.
Poorest Ground Visited:
Joint discussion between Barnet and
Macclesfield.
Best experience on your travels:
Blackpool a couple of seasons ago when Swindon clinched promotion from division 2
and several thousand Swindon fans stayed the weekend in Blackpool. It was just like being
at home.
Worst experience on your travels:
Many many years ago. After a long train journey myself and a single friend were met
and eventually beaten up by many Doncaster Rovers fans. Good job they are no longer in the
league.
Funniest experience on your travels:
Breaking down at Shrewsbury and just managing to thumb a lift back home
Any tips for those intending to visit the 92?
Make sure that you contact the club you are travelling to and buy a ticket in
advance if possible. I actually travelled to Hartlepool (ground 92) with a ticket, and on
arrival found that it was an all ticket game and no tickets were on sale. Would have been
a long wasted journey if I hadn't bought a ticket in advance.
